David Horn is a Professor and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University. His research focuses on Science and Technology Studies (STS), the History of Human Sciences, and Cultural and Social Theory, with a regional emphasis on Europe, particularly Italy and France. He holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley (1994).
His work examines themes such as the body and deviance, social technologies, and the intersection of science with cultural and political contexts. Current projects include a collection of essays on writing, automatism, and the self. Notable publications include The Criminal Body: Lombroso and the Anatomy of Deviance (2003) and Social Bodies: Science, Reproduction, and Italian Modernity (1994). His scholarship spans historical analyses of 19th-century Italian human sciences and interdisciplinary studies of modernity.
