Giuseppe Bardascino is a tenured Lecturer in Italian at the University of Rouen Normandy, affiliated with the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences and the Department of Romance Studies. He specializes in 19th-century Italian culture, the intersection of literature and science, and medical humanities, with a particular focus on Cesare Lombroso, positivism, and the representation of madness and the sick body in literature.

His research explores the dialogue between scientific and literary discourses in 19th-century Italy, particularly through the works of Lombroso and Carlo Dossi. He contributes to the FIBIA-BIVUR project, digitizing ancient Italian and Iberian collections, and co-directs the Department of Romance Studies at the University of Rouen.
