David Fleming is a Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Furman University, affiliated with the Riley Institute. He holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame (2003) and M.A./Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2009). His research focuses on education policy, civic education, and political participation, particularly in the contexts of school choice programs and Montessori education implementation. He co-leads a five-year evaluation of public Montessori schools in South Carolina through the Riley Institute and previously served as a Senior Research Associate for the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program (MPCP) evaluation, studying voucher impacts on student outcomes.
