Dr David Evans is a Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University's Business School, specializing in Strategy, Enterprise and Sustainability. With 15 years of NHS leadership experience across acute and community settings, he focuses on healthcare leadership and compassionate leadership practices. He holds a PhD from the University of Leicester (2014), an MA in Social Theory of Organizations from Keele University (1998), and a BA in Business Studies from Staffordshire University (1996).
His research explores leadership in health/social care integration, quality improvement programs, and healthcare transformation. Notable projects include an £72,000 Realist Evaluation of Individualised Placement Services (IPS) with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. He collaborates with Welsh Government, Public Health Wales, and Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) on dental practitioner improvement programs and cross-sector care pathways in Wales.
He serves on the Journal of Integrated Care editorial board and presents at conferences like the Riyadh Second Health Cluster Quality Week. His work bridges academic research with practical healthcare solutions, emphasizing systems leadership and stakeholder collaboration across public, third-sector, and healthcare organizations.
