Louise Hulme is a Lecturer in Children’s Nursing and Module Lead for Leadership CPD at Staffordshire University, within the Health, Education, Policing and Sciences school. Her clinical background spans acute medicine, Children’s Intensive Care (including patient retrieval), and Nursing Practitioner roles in secondary schools. She managed one of the UK’s first Mental Health Support teams. She is a Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) practitioner, supporting staff and students during crises.
Qualifications include a PG Cert in Transformational Leadership (University of Northampton), Diploma in Critical Care (Keele University), and Diploma in Nursing (Child) from Nottingham University. She is pursuing an Academic Professional Apprenticeship at Staffordshire University.
Research interests focus on leadership development, psychological safety in healthcare teams, and resilience-building in child mental health. She actively engages in university outreach to inspire future nurses, emphasizing practical leadership training and clinical excellence. Her work bridges clinical practice and education, reflecting her commitment to improving care quality and workforce preparedness.
