Professor David Crundall is a leading academic in the Department of Psychology at Nottingham Trent University, serving as REF coordinator for Psychology and shaping research strategy. He holds a PhD in Psychology and has extensive experience in applied cognitive research, particularly in transport safety. Previously at the University of Nottingham, he led the Accident Research Unit and directed the Nottingham Integrated Transport and Environmental Simulation (NITES) facility before joining NTU in 2013.
His research focuses on driver behavior, hazard perception, and visual attention, with projects addressing emergency service driver training, mobility scooter safety, and cross-cultural hazard testing.
