David Brody

David Brody is a Professor of Painting and Drawing at the University of Washington's School of Art + Art History + Design since 1996. He holds an MFA in Painting from Yale University. His work spans over 100 exhibitions in the US and Europe, with solo shows at Gallery NAGA (Boston), Esther Claypool Gallery (Seattle), and international venues. His art has been featured in Art in America, Artforum, and the Seattle Weekly. Brody has been awarded prestigious honors including the Fulbright Scholarship, Guggenheim Fellowship, and multiple grants from the University of Washington.

Research Interests: Brody’s practice explores drawing and painting techniques, emphasizing technical precision, color theory, and spatial dynamics. His work often bridges traditional and contemporary approaches, with a focus on visual storytelling and material innovation.
