David Bentley

David Bentley is an Associate Professor in the Entertainment Arts Department at the College for Creative Studies, affiliated with the Visual Development faculty. He holds a BFA from Brigham Young University and brings extensive industry experience in design for automotive, film, and gaming sectors.

His research and professional work focus on character and conceptual design, innovative design workflows, and applications in both entertainment and industrial contexts. He explores the intersection of digital modeling, illustration, and creative processes in design education.

David is an active speaker at international design conferences, including multiple appearances at the IFCC conference in Croatia and the SPLASH conference in Prague, where he shares insights on design innovation and pedagogy.

He maintains a strong professional presence through freelance consulting, particularly with Ford Motor Co's 2000X department, contributing to design exploration and training initiatives. His academic-practice synergy enhances curriculum development and student engagement in visual storytelling and design thinking.
