David Bartlett is an Executive in Residence in the Department of Management at the Kogod School of Business, American University. He specializes in international corporate strategy, emerging markets, and technology startups. With a Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego, he has held faculty positions at the University of Minnesota and Vanderbilt University, and visiting roles at institutions in Taiwan, Armenia, and Uzbekistan. His research explores global sustainability, innovation ecosystems, and the interplay between market reforms and democratization. He has authored award-winning works, including a book on Hungary’s political economy that won the Hewett Prize. Bartlett teaches courses on global strategy, emerging markets, and sustainability, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to global economic challenges.
