Tommy White serves as a Senior Lecturer ("Executive-in-Residence") at American University's Kogod School of Business since 2013, concurrently directing the Veloric Center for Entrepreneurship. His leadership spans experiential learning initiatives, entrepreneurship curriculum development, and a business incubator program engaging over 500 students annually in competitions with $100,000 in prize funding while mentoring 20-30 student ventures each year.
His academic credentials include an MBA in Marketing from American University's Kogod School of Business (1995) and a BA in Economics and History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1986).
Professor White specializes in translating entrepreneurial theory into practice through courses on venture capital, business planning, and startup launch strategies. His work emphasizes real-world application via the Veloric Center's incubator and DMV ecosystem engagement, where he mentors 10-15 early-stage companies annually and participates in DC Startup Week as presenter, judge, and coach.
