Prof. David Amodio is a faculty member at the University of Amsterdam, affiliated with the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences and the Programme group Social Psychology. His research investigates the psychological and neural mechanisms of social cognition, prejudice, and bias.
His research focuses on how social attitudes form through learning mechanisms, the role of AI in propagating societal biases, and neural correlates of prejudice regulation. Key areas include instrumental learning of stereotypes, computational modeling of social cognition, and interventions to reduce bias.
Analysis of his publications reveals consistent themes in social neuroscience, including neural encoding of prejudice, cross-cultural bias transmission, and computational approaches to social behavior. His work integrates experimental psychology with neuroimaging techniques to study real-world social issues.
