Kate Ratliff is an Associate Professor and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in the Department of Psychology at the University of Waterloo. She serves as Social Psychology Area Head and leads the ASC Lab, focusing on attitudes, social cognition, and intergroup bias. Her research examines how institutional policies and migration patterns shape social attitudes and stereotypes.

Her research spans two primary lines: (1) developing a theoretical model for policy impacts on intergroup attitudes, and (2) analyzing migration effects on regional bias. She actively mentors graduate students and collaborates with international scholars, including former visiting researchers from the University of Santiago (Chile).
Recent publications highlight institutional policy effects on bias, migration-related racial bias transmission, and feedback mechanisms for anti-bias engagement. She has been appointed as Associate Editor at Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin and elected to the Society for Experimental Social Psychology (SESP) Executive Committee, serving as Secretary (2025), Vice-President (2026), and President (2027).
