Daryl Price is a Sessional Lecturer and Concert Band Instructor at the University of Alberta since 2016. His professional journey includes 17 years of secondary school teaching in Alberta and Newfoundland, alongside extensive experience in musical leadership and performance. He holds a B.Mus and B.Mus.Ed. from Memorial University of Newfoundland and an M.Ed. from the University of Alberta, focusing on music education.
His research interests center on increasing male enrollment in secondary school choirs, as explored in his master's study. He is an active performer, serving as a bassoonist in the University of Alberta Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, and a clinician for secondary schools. Notable roles include organizing the St. Albert Public Schools Night of Music and directing the University of Alberta Summer Band.
He has received the 2008 Excellence in Teaching Provincial Award. His ensemble instruction spans university and community bands, with additional expertise in musical theatre direction and elementary music enrichment programs.
