Professor Darren Rosenblum is a Full Professor at McGill University's Faculty of Law, joining in August 2021 from Pace University. He previously served as Associate Dean for Graduate Studies (2022–2024) and held roles as a Wainwright Senior Fellow (2018) and Fulbright Research Scholar in France (2015). His research focuses on corporate governance, diversity initiatives, and sex inequality, with notable contributions to queer legal theory and transgender rights. Rosenblum's work bridges law and social policy, analyzing topics like boardroom diversity, gender equity, and comparative corporate governance frameworks.
Before academia, he clerked in the U.S. District Court of Puerto Rico (1996–1998) and practiced international arbitration at top firms like Clifford Chance and Skadden Arps. His scholarship includes pioneering articles such as 'Queer Intersectionality' (1994) and 'Trapped in Sing Sing' (2000), which explored transgender prisoners' rights. His recent work emphasizes institutional investors' fiduciary duties to diversify boards and the impact of gender quotas on corporate performance.
Rosenblum's publications span academic journals and media outlets like Forbes and the Washington Post, addressing topics ranging from mandatory paternity leave to the societal implications of corporate diversity policies. His research has been presented globally, including at the French National Assembly in 2015.
