Darrell Green

Dr. Darrell Green serves as a Lecturer in RNA Biology at Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia, where he leads the RNA research group within the Metabolic Health Centre. His academic journey began with biomedical scientist training at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, followed by a PhD at UEA focused on microRNA and bone cancer, and postdoctoral work developing single-cell RNA sequencing techniques for circulating tumor cells.

Dr. Green's research focuses on RNA-mediated gene silencing mechanisms in pediatric cancers, particularly bone sarcomas. His laboratory combines molecular biology techniques with computational approaches to study post-transcriptional gene regulation in tumor development and metastasis. His work spans from fundamental mechanisms to translational applications, including drug development targeting fusion-positive sarcomas.

His recent publications demonstrate significant contributions to understanding osteosarcoma subtypes, metastasis mechanisms, and RNA structural biology in cancer. The research portfolio includes collaborations across Europe through the EURO EWING Consortium and FIGHT Osteosarcoma Through European Research (FOSTER) initiatives.
