Darrah Carr is an Associate Professor of Dance and Director of the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College. She is a distinguished choreographer, dancer, educator, and writer with over 15 years of contributions to modern and Irish dance communities. Her work bridges traditional and contemporary dance forms, emphasizing cultural preservation and innovation.

Research & Performance: Carr’s research interests focus on Irish dance modernization and cultural expression. She has collaborated with Trinity Irish Dance, Nassau Dance Theatre, and Mise Eire Irish Dancers, while also serving as assistant choreographer for the Tony Award-winning James Joyce’s The Dead. Her choreography has been featured in Stones in His Pockets and King Stag, and she appears in the PBS documentary Absolutely Irish directed by Paul Wagner.
