Daphne Main

Daphne Main is a Lecturer of Accounting at Loyola University New Orleans' College of Business, serving as Accounting Coordinator since Fall 2008. She holds a Ph.D. in Accounting (Ohio State University, 1990), M.S. in Accountancy (Western Michigan University, 1982), and B.S. in Botany (University of Vermont, 1976). A CPA (Ohio-inactive), she has taught at institutions including Western Michigan University, University of Maryland, University of New Orleans, and Salem State College.

Her research focuses on decision-making in accounting and tax contexts, with publications spanning accounting, business, and tax disciplines. She has received multiple teaching, advising, and service awards from Loyola and UNO.

Dr. Main's unique career includes early work as a grain inspector ('bean counter'), blending botanical background with accounting expertise. She coordinates accounting programs and contributes to pedagogical innovation in business education.
