Eddie Nabors

Eddie Nabors is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance at the Collat School of Business, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), serving since August 2011. He teaches courses including Financial Accounting, Professional Development for Accountants, and Accounting Internships, with a focus on service learning through tax preparation for low-income families via the VITA program. He also mentors students as Faculty Advisor for the Beta Alpha Psi chapter at UAB.

Educational Background: Master of Accounting from the University of West Florida (2011); Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a focus on Accounting from the University of Alabama (1976); completed The Executive Program at the Darden School of Business (1991). Holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification (inactive status).

Teaching & Professional Engagement: Specializes in integrating service learning into accounting education, particularly tax preparation for underserved communities. Coordinates the Accounting/Finance Internship program and has served on the Accounting Advisory Board. Active in community service, including roles as Treasurer and Deacon at First Baptist Church of Birmingham and involvement with the Shepherd Program for Poverty Studies.

Professional Affiliations: Member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), Alabama Society of CPAs, and American Accounting Association. Served as Institutional Nominator for the PCAOB Scholars Program and organized student educational trips to NYC.
