Prof. Daphna Ben-Shaul is a senior faculty member at Tel Aviv University's Faculty of the Arts, Department of Theatre Arts, serving as Chair of the Multidisciplinary (BA) & Interdisciplinary (MA, PhD) Programs in the Arts since 2020 and co-heading the Independent Theatre & Performance MFA track since 2010.

Her research spans theatre studies, performance art, and philosophical aesthetics with emphasis on political and civic dimensions, spatial thought in site-specific performance, reflexive practices, voiding phenomena, and creative collectives. She has published a comprehensive book on the Zik Group (Keter 2005), journal articles, and exhibition catalogs.
Prof. Ben-Shaul co-organized the Israel Science Foundation-supported international conference 'Critical Performance On-Site' (2023) and delivered guest lectures at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main (2022). Her research has been consistently funded by major grants including ISF, GIF, and Yad Ha'Nadiv.
