Danya Nusseir is an ESRC IAA Postdoctoral Impact Fellow at the University of Warwick's Institute for Employment Research, mentored by Gaby Atfield. She concurrently serves on the Board of Trustees for a UK Charity, focusing on practical applications of her research in refugee integration.
Her academic credentials include:
- PhD in Employment Research from University of Warwick (awarded early 2025)
- MSc in Social Policy and Social Research from University College London (2020)
- MBA from Kingston University (2014)
- BSc in Computer Science and Business Administration from University of Kent (2006)
Her research centers on digital literacy as a catalyst for integrating marginalised communities, particularly examining Arab refugee women's labor market access across Jordan, Lebanon, and the UK. Using qualitative methodologies including in-depth interviews and policy analysis, she investigates intersections of ICT, social policy, and peacebuilding. Her current fellowship develops actionable resources—policy documents and digital skills toolkits—to directly address employment barriers.
Danya's recognition includes the ESRC IAA Postdoctoral Impact Fellowship. This award supports her translation of academic research into practical interventions for refugee women's workforce integration.
With over fifteen years of cross-sector experience, she has led research initiatives for governments, international NGOs, and businesses while managing diverse teams up to 30 members. Her pre-PhD executive leadership roles in development organizations inform her applied research approach, bridging academic rigor with real-world implementation.
