Danne' L. Johnson is the Constance Baker Motley Professor of Law at the Oklahoma City University School of Law. She holds a B.A. in Afro American Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from George Washington University's National Law Center. Her academic career spans 17 years, focusing on securities regulation, nonprofit organizations, implicit bias, race, class, and gender dynamics. She teaches courses including Civil Procedure, Securities Litigation, and American Legal History.
Johnson’s research emphasizes intersectional legal issues, with notable publications on post-emancipation legal frameworks, minority women in academia, and nonprofit governance. She has held leadership roles in organizations such as the American Association of Law Schools Section on Women in Legal Education and contributes to community initiatives through roles in the Links, Inc., and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. Her professional experience includes roles at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and MetLife before transitioning to academia.
Johnson has received prestigious awards, including the Marian P. Opala Lifetime Achievement Award (2020) and the Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher Award for Diversity (2019). She actively engages in public speaking on topics like implicit bias and nonprofit management, delivering talks for institutions such as the United Methodist Church and the Oklahoma Library Association.
