Danielle Levac is an Associate Professor at the School of Rehabilitation, University of Montreal. Her research focuses on integrating immersive virtual reality into pediatric rehabilitation, particularly for children with cerebral palsy, and on knowledge translation strategies for rehabilitation technologies.
- B.Sc. Physiotherapy, University of Ottawa (2001)
- M.Sc. Rehabilitation Sciences, McMaster University (2007)
- Ph.D. Rehabilitation Sciences, McMaster University (2012)
- Postdoctoral Fellowship, Motor Control Laboratory, University of Ottawa (2012–2014)
Her research employs motor learning paradigms (eye tracking, kinematics, EEG) and explores affective reactions to VR immersion. She leads the INSPIRE Lab at the Pediatric Rehabilitation Technopole, Sainte-Justine University Hospital Research Center, focusing on sustainable, evidence-based digital innovations in rehabilitation.
Her recent publications examine motor skill transfer in VR, affective impacts on learning, narrative feedback efficacy, and implementation barriers for rehabilitation technologies. She collaborates with funders like NIH, FRQ-S, and Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation.
At the University of Montreal, she teaches in pediatric rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, and knowledge translation. Her lab, INSPIRE Lab, partners with families, clinicians, and researchers to advance VR applications in rehabilitation.
