Danielle Evans is an Associate Professor in The Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University and affiliated faculty in the Center for Africana Studies. She is a renowned author of literary fiction, celebrated for her story collections The Office of Historical Corrections and Before You Suffocate Your Own Fool Self.
Her work has garnered prestigious awards, including the PEN/Bingham Prize, Hurston-Wright Award, and Janet Heidinger Kafka Prize. Her stories appear in The Best American Short Stories and other esteemed publications.
Evans' research and creative practice focuses on themes of race, identity, and contemporary social dynamics in narrative fiction. She is actively involved in literary communities and has received grants such as the NEA Fellowship and USA Artists Fellowship.
