Danielle Couch is an Adjunct Professor at Monash University's Rural Health Bendigo department. She holds roles as General Manager of the Victorian Tasmanian PHN Alliance and Strategic Projects & Policy Advisor at the Bendigo and District Aboriginal Co-operative. Her research focuses on public and rural health, media discourse, and critical examinations of power dynamics in healthcare. She has been recognized with awards including the Australian Postgraduate Award (2009) and the Master of Public Health Student of the Year (2006).
Her work integrates sociological perspectives to address contemporary health challenges, particularly in rural and Indigenous contexts. She has contributed to projects like the Allied Health Service-learning Placements study (2021) and authored/co-authored over 35 publications. Danielle serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Bioethical Inquiry and holds memberships in organizations such as the Public Health Association of Australia and the Australian Sociological Association.
Research interests include telehealth equity, rural bioethics, and health policy. Her editorial and peer-review activities span journals in public health, bioethics, and sociology. She has led initiatives to strengthen rural healthcare systems and advocate for Indigenous health equity through regulatory reforms and culturally informed practices.
