Dr. Matei's research pioneers metabolic targeting in ovarian cancer, investigating ferroptosis induction through selenium deprivation and lipid oxidation manipulation. Her work bridges epigenetic regulation with immunotherapy enhancement, focusing on overcoming chemotherapy resistance through CRISPR-based metabolic vulnerability mapping and mRNA vaccine development.
Recent 2025 publications demonstrate clinical-translational integration across prehabilitation protocols, combination immunotherapies, and mechanistic cancer metabolism studies, establishing ovarian cancer as the central disease model for therapeutic innovation.
She leads active clinical trials including ACR-368-201 for platinum-resistant ovarian carcinoma and directs research within the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center and Center for Reproductive Science.
National leadership roles span NRG Oncology committees, ASCO Taxonomy Committee, and Department of Defense Ovarian Cancer Academy, driving collaborative advances in gynecologic oncology standards.
