Emily M Hinchcliff, MD, MPH, serves as Assistant Professor in Gynecologic Oncology within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. She maintains active clinical and research roles at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, focusing on translational gynecologic cancer research and patient care.
Her educational background includes:
- BS from Haverford College (2008)
- MD from Harvard Medical School (2013)
- Physician Educator Certificate from The University of Texas McGovern Medical School (2018)
- MPH from The University of Texas School of Public Health (2019)
Dr. Hinchcliff's research centers on molecular mechanisms in gynecologic cancers, with emphasis on immunotherapy biomarkers, surgical optimization, and precision treatment approaches. Her work integrates clinical oncology with public health methodologies to address disparities in cancer care delivery and survivorship outcomes.
Her 2025 publications reveal a cohesive research trajectory examining molecular-pathological correlations in ovarian cancer (including NTRK fusions and PPP2R1A mutations), intraoperative diagnostic accuracy, and prehabilitation protocols. These studies demonstrate her dual focus on laboratory-based biomarker discovery and pragmatic clinical interventions.
She leads three major clinical trials: NRG GY026 (HER2-targeted therapy for endometrial cancer), NRG CC010 (sentinel lymph node mapping to reduce limb dysfunction), and NU MDA24G03 (PP2A targeting in ovarian clear cell carcinoma). These trials address critical gaps in treatment efficacy, surgical morbidity, and molecularly guided therapy.
As part of Northwestern's Gynecologic Oncology team, she collaborates with multidisciplinary specialists across pathology, medical oncology, and surgical innovation programs to advance comprehensive cancer care models.
