Daniel Teadt is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Voice and First-Year Student Advisor at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Music. He holds a graduate degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, where he trained under John Wustman. His career spans four continents with notable apprenticeships at institutions like San Francisco Opera, Central City Opera, and the Ravinia Festival's Steans Institute. Teadt has performed major operatic roles globally, including with the Metropolitan Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, and Aix-en-Provence Festival. His concert engagements include collaborations with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony, and London Symphony Orchestra (Grammy-winning recording). He specializes in art song repertoire, premiering works by contemporary composers while championing traditional pieces like Mahler's Rückert Lieder.
As an educator, Teadt has taught at Carnegie Mellon (including its Qatar campus), Washington and Jefferson College, and others. He leads masterclasses worldwide, emphasizing vocal technique and performance excellence. His awards include recognition from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and the George London Foundation. Upcoming engagements include voice studio summer sessions and TEDx speaker coaching. Teadt's recordings with EMI Classics, Naxos, and Navona highlight his contributions to vocal literature.
