Daniel S. Nagin is the Teresa and H. John Heinz III University Professor of Public Policy and Statistics at Carnegie Mellon University and a Max Planck Law Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law (Freiburg) and Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods (Bonn). He is renowned for his work in criminology, focusing on rational choice theory, life-course criminal behavior, deterrence, and statistical methods for longitudinal data.
