Daniel Persson Thunqvist is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Linköping University, affiliated with the Department of Behavioural Sciences and Learning (IBL) and the Division of Education and Sociology (APS). His research focuses on social interaction in institutional settings, young people’s occupational socialization, and vocational education and training (VET). Key interests include Industry 5.0 skills transformation, green transitions in industry, and the role of VET in societal adaptation.
He is part of the HELIX Competence Centre and the Work and Working Life research group. His work bridges micro-sociological analysis with macro-level educational policy, emphasizing how institutional contexts shape professional identity and skill development. Notable projects include the SKILL-UP initiative exploring Industry 5.0 competencies and studies on apprenticeship programs in industrial technology.
