Daniel McCollum is a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University. He completed both his MD and residency training at the same institution, graduating from Emergency Medicine residency in 2013. Since 2014, he has served as Assistant Program Director, playing a central role in graduate medical education.
His research and clinical interests focus on innovative medical education, including Free Open Access Medical Education (FOAMed), metacognition, social media in medicine, and educational theory. He is actively involved in podcasting and has contributed to prominent emergency medicine podcasts such as EM:RAP, ED ECMO, and The Skeptic’s Guide to Emergency Medicine.
