Daniel Joyner

Daniel Joyner, Elton B. Stephens Professor of Law at the University of Alabama School of Law, specializes in public international law with a focus on nuclear nonproliferation, disarmament, and weapons of mass destruction (WMD) law. He previously taught at the University of Warwick School of Law and was a Senior Associate Member at St. Antony’s College, Oxford University.

Recent articles analyze nuclear disarmament frameworks, the TPNW’s environmental remediation obligations, and WMD training initiatives. His work clarifies legal distinctions between disarmament and arms control treaties, emphasizing the urgency of refocusing on New START’s successor agreements.
