Alfredo Toro Carnevali is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Political Science and Law at Montclair State University's College of Humanities and Social Sciences. He specializes in Latin American politics, disarmament, international security, and diplomacy. His academic roles include coordinating the Graduate Program, Global Security and Diplomacy Minor, and Model UN Pre-College Summer program.

Professional Background: Prior to academia, he served as a diplomat at the United Nations, negotiating major treaties such as the Arms Trade Treaty (2014) and the Nuclear Weapons Ban Treaty (2017). He was elected Vice-President of the UN General Assembly's First Committee on Disarmament and International Security.
