Daniel Jones is Lecturer in History and Searchlight Archivist at the University of Northampton's Centre for Historical Studies, where he completed his PhD in 2021. His research examines three interconnected areas: 1) Historical development of far-right and antifascist movements in Britain, 2) Ethical practices for archiving extremist materials, and 3) Print/media cultures shaping radical political identities.
Jones investigates how extremist groups construct identities through media, analyzing archival collections to understand historical and contemporary radicalization. His current work explores ecofascism's development and environmental campaigns appropriated by extremist groups.
Recent publications address ethical archival practices for sensitive materials (2024), gender dynamics within historical fascist movements (2025), and wellbeing considerations when working with extremist archives (2025). These works demonstrate his methodological approach combining archival research with ethical framework development.
