Christin Jänicke is a Research Fellow at the Center for Civil Society Research (WZB Berlin Social Science Center), focusing on far-right interventions and civil society responses. She is completing her PhD at Freie Universität Berlin on anti-fascist engagement in East Germany. Previously, she worked at the Berlin School of Economics and Law analyzing police responses to far-right youth and taught at Freie Universität Berlin. Active in civic education and public relations, she managed communications for Opferperspektive and contributed to the Emil Julius Gumbel Research Department at the Moses Mendelssohn Center for European-Jewish Studies in Potsdam.
Her research interests include far-right movements, antifascist strategies, and civil society dynamics in East Germany. She is a country expert in the Worldwide Antifascism Research Network (founded 2024) and has authored/co-authored publications on right-wing violence, antifa history, and youth work with marginalized groups.
Key projects include 'Organized Civil Society and Far-Right Interventions' and 'Effective against the far right', exploring evidence-based strategies to counter extremism. Her work bridges historical analysis with contemporary activism, emphasizing practical solidarity networks and institutional responses to political violence.
