معرفی
Daniel Hodson is a Principal Investigator at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute and a group leader in the Department of Haematology at the University of Cambridge. He holds an Medical Research Council Clinician Scientist Fellowship and a CRUK Senior Cancer Research Fellowship, focusing on the molecular mechanisms of lymphomagenesis, particularly in B cell lymphomas. His work bridges clinical hematology with cutting-edge genomic and post-transcriptional research.
Research Interests: Hodson investigates how genetic alterations in post-transcriptional regulation contribute to non-Hodgkin lymphoma development. His lab employs exome sequencing, ribosome profiling, and iCLIP to study mRNA translation and single-cell perturbational transcriptomics in germinal center B cells. This research has implications for targeted therapies in lymphoid malignancies.
Scientific Awards & Funding:
- CRUK Senior Cancer Research Fellowship (2021)
- Medical Research Council Clinician Scientist Fellowship
- Kay Kendal Leukaemia Fund
- Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust
- The Evelyn Trust
Students & Collaborators: Hodson leads a team including Chun (Jade) Gong, Kaiyue Helian, Ross Jackson, Furqaan Ahmed Kaji, Joanna Krupka, and Judith Mateos. His group develops novel cell culture models for lymphoma research.
Lab & Facilities: Based at the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Hodson's lab collaborates with the Haematological Malignancy Research Network and utilizes single-cell technologies, genomics, and bioinformatics core facilities.
