Daniel Green is an Instructor of Philosophy at James Madison University since 2023, affiliated with the Department of Philosophy & Religion in the College of Arts and Letters. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. and M.A. in Philosophy from the University of California Riverside, and a B.A. in Philosophy and English from Brandeis University.
Dr. Green's research emphasizes 19th-20th Century Continental Philosophy, particularly German Idealism and Hegel, focusing on the role of aesthetic harmony in truth and moral virtue. He integrates Eastern and indigenous philosophies into his pedagogy, enriching classroom discussions with cross-cultural perspectives.
Teaching at JMU, he currently instructs Philosophy 150: Ethical Reasoning. Prior institutions include Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Assumption University, and UC Riverside. Beyond academia, he engages in nature and meditation practices.
