Dr. Daniel Brennan is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Society & Design at Bond University, affiliated with the Transformation Colab (DPE). His research focuses on political and social philosophy, particularly exploring resistance theories, phenomenology, and the philosophy of sport. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from Bond University (2013), examining the political thought of Václav Havel. Brennan has authored works including The Political Thought of Vaclav Havel and is currently completing a book on surfing and the philosophy of sport.
His research interests include non-traditional forms of resistance (e.g., friendship, kindness), the ethics of technology (e.g., Generative AI critiques), and the intersection of sport and philosophy. He has presented at conferences such as the Australasian Society for Continental Philosophy and collaborates on interdisciplinary projects like 'Classroom Charrettes' integrating AI and SDGs.
Brennan’s work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education and ethical discourse. His articles span journals such as Journal of the Philosophy of Sport and Ethics and Bioethics, reflecting his commitment to bridging philosophical theory with contemporary issues like digital ethics and cultural practices.
