معرفی
Dr. Daniel Barratt is a Research Fellow in the Neuroimmunopharmacology Lab at the University of Adelaide, with affiliate positions in the Discipline of Pharmacology and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale BioPhotonics. With over 15 years of experience in clinical pharmacogenomics, his research identifies predictors and biomarkers of pain, analgesic response, and performance resilience in humans and livestock.
His primary research investigates how neuroimmune signaling pathway genetics influence chronic postsurgical pain and establish frameworks for personalized pain treatment. Additional projects examine biomarker determinants of ketamine efficacy, genetic predictors of morphine efficacy for breathlessness, and pharmacogenomics of mercaptopurine toxicity in pediatric leukemia.
Dr. Barratt teaches within the B.HlthMedSci program and has developed extensive collaborations with engineers, computer scientists, and clinicians to translate human pain biomarkers into livestock settings. His interdisciplinary approach integrates clinical pharmacogenomics with neuroimmunogenetics to advance precision medicine approaches.
His recent publications demonstrate strong focus on neuroimmune mechanisms in pain, pharmacogenomic predictors of treatment response, and population-specific drug metabolism patterns. Research spans clinical applications in oncology, psychiatry, transplant medicine, and infectious disease treatment optimization.
