Daniel B. Kelly serves as Dean and Mengler Chair in Law at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. He previously held full-time faculty positions at the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he directed the Program on Law & Economics and founded the Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate. His academic work focuses on the economic analysis of property rights, land use policy, and fiduciary principles.
Education: Harvard Law School (JD), University of Notre Dame (BA). Professional experience includes judicial clerkship on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, attorney at Cravath, Swaine & Moore (New York), and visiting professorships at University of Chicago Law School and Harvard Law School.
Research interests encompass eminent domain, land assembly strategies, trust law, and interdisciplinary approaches to real estate policy. His work has been published in leading journals like Cornell Law Review, Harvard Law Review Forum, and Emory Law Journal.
