Daniel Andresen is a Professor of Computer Science at Kansas State University and Director of the Institute for Computational Research. He holds the Michelle Munson-Serban Simu Keystone Research Scholar endowed chair. His academic journey includes a B.S. from Westmont College (1990), M.S. from Cal Poly (1992), and Ph.D. from UC Santa Barbara (1997).

Research focuses on distributed systems, high-performance computing (HPC), and cyberinfrastructure development. He directs the Institute for Computational Research, managing the Beocat HPC cluster and collaborating across disciplines (civil engineering, biology, agriculture). National leadership roles include XSEDE Campus Champion Coordinator and NSF/NIH review panels.
Awards highlight $40M+ in NSF/NIH/USDA grants, 85+ publications, and impactful research featured in The Economist and ScienceDaily. Teaching contributions include mentoring 24 student researchers, advising ACM chapters, and coaching Supercomputing contest teams.
Labs/Teams: Oversees Beocat HPC cluster and interdisciplinary research collaborations with Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Arkansas institutions.
