Daniel Frishberg is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science and Software Engineering department at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly). He teaches courses such as Theory of Computation and Discrete Structures, and actively advises the Computing Research Society (CRS) student club. His research focuses on algorithms, particularly rapidly mixing Markov chains, hierarchical clustering, and graph-related problems like Hanoi graphs and graph drawing.

Professional Experience: Prior to academia, he worked for six years as a software engineer at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI/NIH) and held Google internships (2020-2021). He also contributed to nonprofit web development from 2007-2012.
