Dr. Danai-Fani Georgoula is a Researcher at Utrecht University's School of Law, affiliated with the International and European Law department. She is associated with the Utrecht Center for Water, Oceans, and Sustainability Law and the Netherlands Institute for the Law of the Sea.

Her research focuses on judicial jurisdiction under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), with emphasis on compulsory jurisdiction, renvoi mechanisms, and maritime governance. Recent work examines jurisdictional gaps in LOSC dispute settlement and maritime migration control legality.
Key publication trends include interdisciplinary analyses of law of the sea, refugee law, and international human rights law, particularly regarding maritime boundaries, dispute resolution, and coastal governance.
Georgoula is a member of the Athens Bar Association and has prior experience as a legal trainee and consultant in private and public sectors.
