Dana Oswald is a Professor of English and Chair of the Literature and Languages Department at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. She also serves as Director of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She holds a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University (2005).

Her research focuses on Old English literature, medieval medicine, feminist theory, and intersections of gender/sexuality in medieval contexts. She has authored two books: Conceiving Bodies: Reproduction in Early Medieval English Medicine (2024) and Monsters, Gender and Sexuality in Medieval English Literature (2010). A third book, Conditional Futures: Impossible Intersections in a Medieval Past, is currently in progress.
Teaching specialties include medieval literature, gender studies, history of the English language, and epic/mythology. She also teaches freshman composition at Racine Correctional Institution via UW-Madison’s Odyssey Beyond Bars program.
