Dr. Dana Blackstone serves as Module Year Coordinator for the BA (Hons) American Theatre Arts program at Rose Bruford College. Holding a PhD in Performing Arts from Canterbury Christ Church University and an MA in Actor Training and Coaching, her work focuses on feminist pedagogy, community creation, and compassion-based performance practices. Her research emphasizes joyful acts of political subversion and the inclusion of marginalized voices in actor training.
Her academic background includes training with renowned practitioners like Arthur Mendoza and the Moscow Art Theatre. She actively publishes in areas of feminist performance practices, joy-based training methodologies, and ensemble dynamics. Professional memberships include UCU, IFTR, TaPRA, and SAG-Aftra eligibility.
Blackstone’s teaching philosophy integrates action-based, feminist approaches to create inclusive ensemble environments.
