Dan Maher

Dan Maher is a Lecturer of Accounting and Adjunct Professor at Oakland University's School of Business Administration. He holds a Bachelor's (1976) and Master's (1992) in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. With over 40 years of professional experience, he served as a Partner at Deloitte LLP (and predecessor firm Touche Ross) from 1986 to 2016, specializing in tax services for diverse clients including high-net-worth individuals and corporations. Post-retirement, he transitioned to academia to teach practical accounting and tax skills.

His teaching emphasizes real-world technical challenges and non-technical career advice. Maher maintains an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and has held roles on various boards and charitable organizations.
