Adrian Fitzsimons, Ph.D., CPA, is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Accounting and Taxation at The Peter J. Tobin College of Business, St. John’s University. He leads initiatives like the Accounting and Taxation Scholars Program, which combines graduate study, internships with major accounting firms, and global exposure in Rome, Italy. The program integrates with the University Honors Program, emphasizing technical expertise alongside soft skills such as communication, research, and professional integrity.

His research interests span Accounting, Taxation, Internal Audit, and CPA Exam Pedagogy. Under his leadership, the department achieved dual AACSB International accreditation for accounting/tax programs and the entire Tobin College of Business.
Dr. Fitzsimons has a diverse professional background, including roles as an economist at the Coffee, Sugar and Cocoa Exchange, an auditor at Touche Ross (now Deloitte & Touche), and teaching positions at Queens College-CUNY and St. John’s University since 1990. He emphasizes the value of St. John’s graduate education, as seen in his children’s academic paths.
