Mark M. Ulrich is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Accountancy at The Peter J. Tobin College of Business, St. John’s University. He holds a BS in Accounting (2006) and an MBA in Accounting (2007) from St. John’s. A licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New York, Ulrich has three years of public accounting experience, most recently as a senior audit associate at KPMG until 2009. He served as Director for Budgets and Compliance for the Tobin College and currently holds leadership roles in the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), including chair of the Career Opportunities in Accounting committee and officer of the Queens/Brooklyn Chapter. His research focuses on CPA exam pedagogy and pass rate analysis, with a 2016 publication in the Accounting Instructors’ Report. He also contributes to NASBA’s CPA performance data books and advises Wiley Efficient Learning.
Ulrich teaches principles and intermediate accounting courses, emphasizing practical applications for professionals. His work bridges academic and professional accounting, advocating for effective educational strategies to enhance CPA exam readiness and career opportunities.
