Dan Langa serves as Lecturer in Music at Smith College with additional teaching appointments at Amherst College and Mount Holyoke College. A Northampton-based composer and producer, he specializes in electroacoustic music exploring vivid textures through cross-disciplinary collaborations in film, dance, and multimedia.
He earned a B.A. in Music from Amherst College (magna cum laude, highest departmental honors) studying with Eric Sawyer and John McDonald, and an M.A. in Music Theory and Composition from New York University under Julia Wolfe and Robert Honstein.
Langa's creative practice centers on bold electroacoustic soundscapes and multimedia integration. His current projects include the 'present kairos' initiative deconstructing language through music and visual art, the electroacoustic trio Other Faces (recording their debut EP in 2025), and an album with GRAMMY-winning producer William Brittelle inspired by Aidan Koch's zine.

As co-founder of cmntx records and 'the present kairos', Langa actively shapes artist development and experimental multimedia. He produces film/television scores from Brooklyn's Honey Jar studio and continues collaborative work with So Percussion, emphasizing cross-medium innovation in current and future projects.
