Ayano Kataoka is a full Professor of Percussion at the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Department of Music and Dance. She holds a distinguished career as a performer, educator, and advocate for contemporary percussion literature. Her affiliations include the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (since 2006) and the prestigious Bowers Program residency. She has performed globally with renowned artists like Yo-Yo Ma and institutions such as the Lincoln Center and Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall.
