Dan Kopman is a Professorial Lecturer in the Kogod School of Business at American University, teaching Global Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, and Business Communication courses. He concurrently serves as Senior Policy Advisor to the World Brewing Alliance.

Kopman's expertise bridges brewing industry practice and business academia, with research focusing on craft beverage policy reform, entrepreneurial strategy in regulated industries, and tax policy impacts on small manufacturers. His three-decade career combines hands-on brewery leadership with federal legislative advocacy.
As lead architect of the 2017 Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act, he transformed U.S. excise tax structures for craft producers through evidence-based policy work while chairing the Brewers Association Committee. His strategic management perspective derives from founding and scaling The Saint Louis Brewery into a regional industry disruptor.
